It's been rainy the past few days and fortunately enough for me I just happened to have 2 days off for Monday and Tuesday.
Well the weather was shitty, didin't want to go out, so I decided to embrace myself with a non-stop DVD marathon with the good ol' Malaysian bootleg DVDs in them night markets...I should take some pictures some day, it's beautiful.
Anyways, I watched the all-hyped-up Cape No. 7 (海角7號, as seen above) at last, and repulsed as I should had been, the film was actually pretty damn good, especially if you are a local Taiwanese and understand some of the slangs...like KAO YAO(哭夭 literally Crying for Hunger, like a baby whinning and bitching for food), such a great word...which can be used in most occasions, not as good as DOUMA but LOL KAO YAO LOL... ha, ha.
And then I watched The Accuracy of Death, a recent Japanese flick featuring the one and only Takeshi Kaneshiro (金城武), douma he's too freaking good looking but he's not that important, what inspired me to mention his film is not how good of a movie The Accuracy of Death was, but the repetitively mentioned quote:
"HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT OF DEATH?"
You know, this type of question is just as vague as "How's your day?" except it's a little deeper. I don't know how may fucking day is alright, but do I really not know? Hm...maybe I just don't think about it...or I just avoid thinking about it...? Uh...seriously though I've been thinking about death lately, I'm probably too bored the last two days.
I mean, I start thinking about how I'll eventually die..., I don't mean to jinx myself but it IS a serious concern though, I mean I've been flying a lot, and everytime I fly I fear for a crash, it's all Final Destination's fault. Speaking of Final Destination, the same director who will do Dragon Ball, I feel much safer about flight accidents. But still...when the plane is about to fly or land, I'd always listen CAREFULLY to the captain's tone when he does the "*statics* 15,000 feet, crew safety check..." routine, I want to know he is alert and conscious.
Last time before I took off for a flight I read about ALL recent stories from China Airlines...one of the biggest casualties happened in 2004ish when the plane safely arrived Japan, but the co-pilot accidentally activated the "Auto-Take Off" mode, which made the plane try to automattically fly itself back to the sky; but then the pilots didin't know and continued his attempt to pull the plane down, eventually the plane was split in half in mid air, and all 300-something passengers were lost.
What a shame, the plane was safely landed, but one mistake caused all this...
Back to my point, I may be too concerned about this because mathematically speaking, the chance of me developing a cancer and die for it is probably 1,000 times higher than I'll crash in a plane. But I still smoke almost a pack a day...
An article I read earlier pointed out that by 2010, the number one cause of death of the world will be Cancer, the formally champ - Heart Disease will step down and place number 2.
Now I've been doing lots of researches because I am indeed...selling health food. With this post about DEATH I'd like to remind all those who read my post, that the chances of us dying from any top three Chronic Disease and endanger ourselves from it is FAR, FAR, FAR greater than accidents in a long run, it's inevitable.
And by Chronic Diseases I mean: Cardiovascular Diseases (meaning heart, blood, and brain, such as high blood pressure or cholesterol.), Diabetes, Cancer, liver and lung disease or even Depression. Depression has taken its toll on leading causes of death, it's not a direct cause of death but let's face it...it's a lead cause of not just suicide, but also ranging from abusive alcoholism to massive murdering freaks like the one from Virginia Tech.
Not jinxing the non-smoker and non-drinkers though, our environments are producing way too much oxidation damages to our cells...like the air pollution, heavy metal, chemical fertilizer and pesticide residues in veggies and fruits, growth hormones and antibiotics in livestocks, eggs, and dairies...etc. All of which slowly damage our cells and cause unusual cell mutations.
I was reading the news the other day, some woman in a 3rd world country was so happy that her daughter had her period at the age of 7. WOW! Amazing world we live in. Most toxic wastes are lipid-soluble, meaning they do not get metabolized away and will be stored in fats, that's why most women develop breast cancers.
I know, I know, we all die someday, but I just want to accomplish some thing, see what I can pull most out of myself before it all ends, and before I do that, I try my best to maintain healthy diets, regular exercises, and besides these, I take health supplements that my own company produce!
And I'm serious about this subject, if you're interested in knowing more about my products, let me know! They're coming to the US in 2009!

Ah...8 More days till great times!
Another day off tomorrow, I think I'm going back to Warcraft.
Peace.
