then

I used to think education was bullshit. I've always thought colllege was only one mere life-dragging process for those who haven't found their dreams or spoke their minds. All these students including myself are nothing more than prisoners who are locked behind our pre-defined societal and ethical values. It seemed like the fortunate "us" were forced to endure all these pain for something so vivid such as our future.
I don't know when this happened, butl now I realize education is actually very important. It is the door to enlightment of our lives. It helps greatly for us to think differently and act as special individuals.
It isn't enough for anyone to have great thoughts and visions. So what if you think you can do this or that? I think for anyone to appreciate and understand you and many many other things in the world, you'll need to put your visions into reality. In doing that, education plays a very important role.
For example, I tried to draw some random girl; I had this vision in my head, but the outcome was...well, nothing like it. Through the help of Photoshop, I tried to make it closer to what I envisioned, only came up with a cheap alteration.
It takes skill to master whatever techniques that you need to express what you have in mind. That's probably why I envy the great artists around me. Great writers, great musicians, speakers, actors, doctors, athletes, or even salesmen...or whatever profession that may be inspirational. These people exhaust their possiblities to convey their mind into forms which we can see, hear, touch, or feel.
And skill takes talents, time, and opportunities. We have the first two, but we often take them for granted and ignore the last.
College, or education in all is(was) our opportunity. I'm on the edge of losing it and now I'm panicking.
Anyway, excuse my blaberings...I'm pretty tired now as I just finished my 15 pages or so project reports. It's beautiful though, it was the first time I cherished my "homework projects"... like I learned something.
I was telling my lil brother the other day while I was teaching him simple English vocabs, "you know Johnny, I'm teaching you all these but you can't seem to focus. That will only be your loss. If you learn these words, they are yours, nobody can take these away from you. These will become your ability and knowledge, and knowledge is power." I felt like I was talking to myself.
Uh...well, I guess I need some sleep, had too much to drink...good night suckers.
