  • Questions

It's almost there but there are so many uncertainties.

Question marks. They signal curiosity, which motivates people to learn, which makes people discover, which makes people wonder, which makes people worry, which then makes people...

    Disappointed?

    Excited?

    Concerned?

    Regret?

    Happy?

    Courageous?

    Weak?

    Realized?

Do I choose to live for the moment, or THE moment?

    What happens after this moment?

    What happens after THAT moment?

    Is there anything sure anymore?

    Yeah, my bank account.

  • Jacky Cheng x Andy Warhol

    Jacky Cheng x Andy Warhol

    NOT.

My life had been pretty hectic lately; for some of you whom I've conversed with earlier, stating personally that:

"Man, this 6 classes is really not that much a challenge."

PLEASE KINDLY ERASE SUCH IGNORANT STATEMENT IN YOUR BRAIN

I did not say that...! No it's my alter-ego, "The Uno" that said that!

    Sigh...

As the finals are approaching, more and more things are to be done; but there is this feeling, that I am almost there. It is the best feeling, that I am about to finally conquer the world, um, my world. I am almost done with my college education!!!.. I am smoking like crazy, I start to picture what is next, and I think that is what most people think about in life.

For me, I feel deeply appreciated that I had finally gotten away from my little la-la land, school had been such a fantastic experience to me, despite the fact that there are absolutely no, none, zip-zero, NADA fine chicks in my classes, the learning experiences seriously had been fun. I think I am really going to miss school, it is purposeful, helpful, and it gave you financial aids to spend with, and this is no joke, I mean it.

If you ask me, "Jacky, so what have your ass learned from school?" I wouldn't say politically correct bullshit like "It prepared me for my life in the future." or "It teaches me how to make money." but rather, school taught me the two most important things in life, HOPE and REALITY. (aside from Money and Sex.)

School teaches me to hope and creates a great expectation from others and myself to better drive me in the right direction, it gave me the right gear to fight; it gave me the key to open up my future and it gave me the Nike Shox to jump higher.

School also teaches me that there are too many expectations and unknown factors out there, that there may be too many paths to choose from, too many doors to unlock, and mountains too high to climb. The reality side of it is bitter sweet, that one day we may set our feet in places we don't want to be.

All in all, I feel inclined to say politically-correct bullshit like "School prepared me for my future." and it is so god damned true. At least for me.

CHEERS AND ++++++++ OIL for those who are fighting in school, and Cheers with real alchohol for those who share my joy that I am finally almost almost almost there!

  • FOBs

I'm not hating on FOBs, in fact I am one; but being less fobby than some of the true masters out there, I'm here to contradict myself.

    Since
I am spending so much time at school nowadays, I can't help but continue
to find things that ruin my learning experiences. Among many issues that already irritate me in classes such as people eating Doritos during FINALS, the FOBs in my classes have become especially troublesome in my
    regular class lectures.

    Among
all the annoying habits that some of these people do, the most
irritating thing is that they will continue to speak Chinese, be it
Mandarin or Cantonese to me, and they'll suddenly pretend that the
entire classroom is Silver Lake, and persist to speak it until I need
to act like I actually don't speak Chinese.

    It isn't that I
choose not to communicate with them in our native language but rather
they aren't really using Chinese to pull our distance together or things in that nature. Take
this guy for example, during class time, he would continuously go out and
smoke, come back and eat his Quickly bullshit, text messaging (in Chinese too.) and ignores the lecture (then Jay Chou ring tone will come up as the text returns), then
after the lecture he would pat on my shoulder and start speaking
Cantonese to me, as if I am capable of it by default.

How nice of him to greet me right? We're tight, we're Chinese so we stick together! Let's be friends! Well, FUCK THAT SHIT.

On at LEAST 3 instances I've met people like these, 2 guys and 1 girl,
they'd sleep, eat, text message through the 2 hour lecture and then during or after class
they'd pat on my shoulder and spoke Chinese to me and propose some real exhilarating activities such as borrowing my notes and homework.

Truth is, what effort have you dipshits put
in? This guy is basically copying all his friends' homeworks and even other
stranger's notes because he's too busy talking to his friends from
La-La land and never really paid attention, you expect me to actually give
away my hard work to you without even a decent excuse? Word to Samuel L.
Jackson: "DOES JACKY CHENG LOOK LIKE A BITCH TO YOU!?"

    They'd
ask me for my phone number, MSN, emails too, not because of anything
else, but to copy more of my homework; I want to make this clear,
though I may feel unpleasant, but I can care less if they want to copy
anything from me, because they'll still end up with a bad grade, given
that there was never any effort put into the work, I DO NOT believe you
can still pass the midterm and final with all that smoking, eating, and
text messaging during pretty much all lectures.

What really pisses me off is
their justifications for it. The shameless ones will straight up ask me for notes, "Your English is better la~" they'd say, other pricks will make up a wonderful tale such as follows:

    "Well, I really don't
understand what the professor is talking about, he talks so fast and I
don't understand English that much, I really just want to get a good
    grade."

Well, tough shit, you're living in US of A, so learn the
damn language, nobody is going to babysit your ignorant whining ass
once you get out of college Okay? The attempt to cry me a river saying
how life is unfair because you never tried will not inspire any sympathy.
We all know it's bullshit, you are lazy and that will be the end of the
    end.

Once again I am not hating on FOBs, indeed I was one, but I never rely copying homework, passing notes and study guides,
form a little study group where everybody talks about what MP3 they
downloaded 3 hours ago and call it a hardship.

    Bottom line,
the FOBs in my classes are annoying, and just because I look like a FOB does
not mean I automatically become your FWB. (Friends-With-Benefit.) It don't mix like that.

That's it I'm going to have a drink and watch American Beauty for the 50th time.

  • Unwashed Clothes

This is an untitled abstract sculpture that I've been working on for the past few weeks...

No, actually it's really titled "UNWASHED CLOTHES" which is slowly built and crafted with substantial amount of passion and one secret ingredient: procrastination.

And with this inspirational masterpiece, I want to contribute my personal insight about the thing I'm at best: procrastination.

As project due dates slowly turn into project due "hours" or even "minutes", I often find myself talking to the mirror: "What the fuck were you doing?" and wished I could go back in time and slap myself silly.

The thing about procrastination I found is that, it is primarily caused by the failure to get in touch with reality and its flow of time. A procrastinator will tend to ignore the real time and environment and choose to moonwalk his way to other activities that match his sense of time and reality, usually in the kingdom of La-La land.

The problem is, some people are able to switch gear from La-La land to the cold, hard reality, and some of us can not, because there are always a gap of "free time" in between the reality and the La-La land; those who procrastinate are the ones who can not correctly measure the distance between La-La land and reality with a given amount of free time, or the ones that will exploit to the last drip of the free time.

It's kind of like a poison too, the La-La land. Because as the procrastinators are drawn away from the imaginary reality, he feels resentment and guilt trip after he gets back to the real world; but that resentment and bad feeling will feed to the desire to return back to La-La land; the next La-La land will become more precious as the previous task is completed. And this cycle will go deeper and deeper, eventually driving us to a "you know what? fuck it." state of mind.

With these said, is there anyway to be away from La-La land? Well I think not, because it is called La-La land for a damn reason, it's happy and relaxing and fun; nobody wants to be away from it. Is there anyway to correctly measure the free time and make sure we do not exploit it? I think not too, because it would not make sense to correctly measure the free time and foolishly NOT exploit it, so, my conclusion is...

Oh MY GaWD, XANGA IS INDEED MY LA LA LAND!!!

  • Mystery Film: "01-18-08"

MYSTERY FILM: "01-18-08" Produced by J.J.Abrams

This is a trailer of an up coming film titled: "01-18-08" seen at the Transformer's previews, little else is known besides that it is produced by J.J. Abrams, who is the executive producer of many hits such as LOST, Startrek, Mission Impossible III and Alias.
Now, many have suggested that it is most likely a monster attack in the NYC, but who, or what could it be? From my personal research here are the possible candidates:

    1. Godzilla

Since the main character is going to Japan, and given the fact that Godzilla is a fictional character from Japanese films, it is easy to associate such theme to the almighty Godzilla; plus, Godzilla spits fireballs, laser beams, and is definitely capable of ripping off the head of the Statue of Liberty and throw it couple of hundred miles away. In addition, Godzilla LOVES to roar.

    2. Some aliens

In all possible aspects, it is safe to assume that it is yet another Alien invasion movie, I mean what else can possibly generate the explosions and all that? But then this movie will deinitely disappoint us if it is another alien movie.

    3. Cthulu

I don't know what Cthulu is but then this is what most YouTube viewers suggest, for further readings please just go to Wikipedia.

    4. Dragon Ball Z

    Hm... why not?

    5. Chuck Norris

When all things fail, you can always count on this guy for being responsible...

For less information, please visit the official website for some very creepy pictures.

OH NO I HAVE TO DO MY HOMEWORK!!!

  • Dumbass Drivers

I do not know whether it stems from the excessive amount of driving lately or plain ol' MAN PMS, it has come to my attention that I FREAKING HATE DRIVING.

Why? Is it because I am driving a D.M.(aka Dream Machine) such as this one?

The answer is easily HELL FUCKING NO.

So what is driving me crazy while I am driving? Could it be the wonderful music that I've been listening to such as these?

The answer is easily NO WAY JOSE!

Man, I'm just chilling and listening to some real nice smooth music, so what exactly is causing my emotional turbulence?

Well, the answer is quite easy as well, try "DUMB ASS DRIVERS"
    see an example below:

(no you are not multi-tasking, you are creating a potential catastrophy for all drivers so STFU because you are not important.)

I hate driving, not because I don't enjoy manipulating the machine to my desired effect (though it's an automatic and 120 HP) or that I don't enjoy John Mayer's ultra smooth guitar and music, it's just that there are too many arrogant, ignorant, ruthless, and plain retarded drivers out there to ruin my driving experience. It's almost like I can't eat my favorite food simply because these people will consistently ruin my appetite by farting in front of me -- how are you going to eat with that kind of nonsense going around you?

Here are a few examples of my most hated drvier types, the diagrams are crappy I know, but you should get a grasp of it since it is only composed of rectangular shapes and 3 types of colors, the red is me, the blue is what I hate, and the blacks are just some nobodies.

TYPE 1: SLOW ASS DRIVERS ON FAST LANE

WHY ARE YOU EVEN HERE? This is especially annoying when the blue car does the following:

    1. Stepping on brakes when obviously there are absolutely no freaking thing in front of it.
    2. Talking on the cellphone
    3. Driving WAY below speed limit
    4. All of the above

These drivers truly have no respect for other people, not to mention how they can envision any costs and damages they have already incurred onto others (such as me) when they are doing these nonsenses. JUST SWITCH YOUR LANE AND HAVE A NICE DAY. For once I like Ludacris for his "MOVE GET OUTTA WAY" track.

TYPE 2: "INITIAL D" WANNABES (yeah, Initial "D"umbasses)

Wow, fast and furious eh? I've seen these stupid people so many times that I had to brake for them just so they can get behind ANOTHER CAR. I don't know why they are so frustrated that they have to speed up from 75 mph to 90 mph in the distance shown above, JUST SO THEY CAN SLOW DOWN TO 70 mph and cause accidents.

Look assholes, if you can't drive fast, then don't, stop trying to picture yourself as this professional racer who will end up going DOWN HILL.

TYPE 3: INITIAL D meets the PO PO

Notice the police car next to the freeway? Yep, the pimped up sports car would slow down just so he/she would be the smart one that slowed down 20 mph to show the po po that he/she is the normal one who is driving at 50 mph at a 65 zone. GOOD JOB YOU STUPID SHIT.

You can be rest assured that there will be some dumbasses that will perform all these things at the same time and even other stupider activities; however I feel like a waste of time explaining these things to you, so, drive safe and nicely kids, have a great night!

  • Update...blah

(Picture taken from Tom's 22nd birthday)

    Long time no post!

Wow, looking at me jumpy and stuff... good times man, good times.

Well, how is everyone doing? After bashing the shit out of Jimmy "NARUTO" Lin, I've decided to put up a little update before I "truly disappear" like Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins.

For those who cared, here is a run down of what I've been up to:

    1. New House

This is probably the most important thing that happened to my life as of now; I've officially moved out of the Foster City house since the end of May. My father decided to invest one more time into this house that is located in Bel-Mateo, or in the middle of Belmont and San Mateo; it is a beautiful house and I absolutely love it.

I've moved in for about a month and so, along with Jenny and Shadow, and now a new quiet lady tenant; my life at home had become so comfy that I dreamed the best dreams for the last 10 years.

Do I miss my old house? HEAVENLY YES! I've been living in there for 10 years, I love my little rectangular room with a bunch of fossils in there, needless to mention the 5-Star smoking deck my dad built for Hanz and I. However, due to unforeseen reasons Jenny and I needed to say goodbye to the Polaris. But nevertheless, HELLO WOODBRIDGE!

    2. Starbucks

I am now working part time at Starbucks, yes, for all you doubters out there, after 7-8 years of spending stupid money at the coffee shop I actually went and make my own coffee now.

The experience is a blast, entirely different than I expected it to be. I thought it'd be boring and tiring, but it is really the most relaxed and hassle free job I've had as opposed to Albertson's and Michale's. The environment is nice, employees are friendly, and I get to see a lot of cute chicks in the store. The pay isn't high, but the flexibility and friendly environment provided me a good sense of relief when I need to concentrate on other things.

    3. School

CONGRATULATION IN ADVANCE TO JACKY CHENG!

I am now officially in my last quarter of my college career.

I am taking the very last 6 courses in college for my Bachelor of Science degree, or BS degree, yeah BS.

Anyway, I can't believe it sometimes, that I've actually come this far...I failed over and over again in my academic career...I was kicked out because I had a GPA of less than 1.2, I dropped classes like it was really okay to just ignore the professors; the deparment heads talked down to me and told me that I was a failure; I wrote at least 3 appeal letters to the school, my parents were so damn disappointed at me...but here I am... I know many of you out there had gone through college with the hardships...but for me, it's so symbolic. I was supposed to walk the ceremony two weeks ago, my classmates all asked me if I was going to walk with them, I told them no because I hadn't really finished my courses and that my parents weren't here. They told me "So?" but damn, how I wished I could say "Thank you DAD, thank you MOM...etc." I've been a lagger all my life, and if I really do finish my college, this will mean so so so so so soooooooooooooooo much to me... well, let's not feel all free and exhilirating now, I will celebrate when the time is right. This is only the beginning, I SWEAR I WILL NOT FAIL ANYONE, ESPECIALLY MYSELF!

    4. New Blogs

I've started several new blogs that will concentrate mainly on the things that I am interested in. I've realized that all I write about this Xanga site is really all about my most inner and personal feelings, and not everyone is intersted in such things. As part of my obsession, I've decided to contribute some of my knowledge about jeans and sneakers in separate blogs that will solely focus on the things I love about; and hopefully these distinct blogs will help you get a better sense about who I am and what I'm most interested in. Check them out at the following links:

    My Movie Reviews

Well that's it folks, have a great night!

    PEACE!

  • Zatoichi

Here's a clip of tap dance fused with traditional Japanese dances featured in Kitano Takeshi's "ZATOICHI", I just couldn't stop watching it, thought I'd share it.

    And there's the movie trailer
