  • 27 Begins

    Oh Snap! Another year!

Last week was chaotic, came back to Taiwan to attend an utterly unprepared expo scheduled in early November, and my new Dell laptop died on me, wouldn't even start. Coincidently, all my backup files were stored in my old laptop, which was reformatted on the same day the new one crashed.

Thanks to the warranties though, it was fixed by Dell's technician just yesterday, probably the best birthday gift I've ever received! I can't imagine losing 2 years worth of works just 1 week before the official expo. Still haven't figured out why the motherboard died, I suspect it's overheating problem but who knows, all I know is I've got to start backing up my files regularly now!

Besides being behind schedule, Jenny and I still managed to eat and play around town...

Some photos from the past 2 weeks.

The best Beef Stew Noodle I've had in my life, no, actually 半畝園 is slightly better...

    But 半畝園 don't have this...

Brought Jenny to this Prawn/Lamb specialty place, one of my favorite in Tao Yuan.

    Very chill and relaxing ambience

Mmmm...shirmps...your best friends from the sea.

The Thai prawn, which features bigger heads for juicier sensation.

Lol having a bad day Jenny?

    Garlic shrimp

    Weird, crunchy textured vegetable 水蓮菜

And their signature: Black Pepper Prawn 胡椒蝦

大羊骨 Lamb (or Goat?) Shank tendon and bones, the straws are for the bone marrow, this dish kicks ass.

    GG NO RE

With some new friends (Vivien in middle) @ The Bed in Taipei

Tony Cheng!! The guy is going to the army...best wishes to my brother.

Had to throw my Visvim in XD

    Taipei Night

    And some work photos...

Written, designed, drawn, and edited by Jacky Cheng...these are the sum of all my works for the past few months! Although they didn't meet the expectation by the "upper management" I still feel that these are the most beautiful product flyers in my life.

Simulate product placement at the expo

    Propolis (蜂膠) samples

    Bee Pollen samples

    100% hand sealed to perfection...not.

    Mo products, MO PRODUCTS.

    MO INDEED

Anyone interested in all kinds of health supplement products let me know, I GOT YOU COVERED.

Birthday Cake from my coworkers! SOHH SWEET!

    "Thank you come again!"

Expo finishes on November 8th; will fly back to Malaysia in mid-November, my company signed up for yet ANOTHER expo in K.L. Malaysia from November 20th-22nd, schedule is pretty packed... hopefully I can still make it back to US before Christmas!!!

It ain't Christmas yet but this song makes me feel oh so happy...

    Till later!

  • Happy Birthday Jacky! 27 sounds like a long time ago...I think I'm getting way too old, mentally.

I just went to a convention too, expo's are fun!

Hope you have a good time in Taiwan.

  • thanks Motoko, yeah I hope things don't go too out of place, there's always the first time for everything, I'll try to enjoy it!

  • Shit I forgot I have a Xanga account lol. I like the flyers you've designed, keep up the good work! Fak why didn't you bring us to the shrimp and lamb place last year?! I would've cancel a whole day's plan for what I just saw. Last time I had 半畝園 I was with you, yea...that long. Speaking of Cuppertino, I forgot that I like to read comics. Where are we with Ravages of Time??

  • i know man what you been up to? i thought i mentioned this restaurant when i met you in taipei, anyhow it'd take a while to get to taoyuan back and forth, plus i didn't wanna have to treat you haha j/p

i don't follow Ravages of Time very much, I was on Lu Bu being captured which was like a century ago... only thing I follow is Blade of the Immortal and Naruto.

anyway, update your xanga, post some pictures man, see yall in Xmas!
